Stop Google Chrome OS

What is it?

Chrome OS is a Linux based operating system. Like Firefox OS in which the phone is booting the Firefox web browser engine, Chrome OS makes the computer boot Google Chrome web browser engine.

Some parts of Chrome OS are open source, some parts are proprietary. It's designed to be tightly integrated with Google services, the computer keeps nearly no data as your data are all owned by Google on their servers.

Alternatives

• Chromium OS, the fully open source version of Chrome OS, but your data are still saved on the internet… you should just try not using Google services 😉.
