Stop Google Sites

Fourteenth post of my Stop Google series.

What is it?

Google Sites is a wiki service, and by using it at work I can say that it’s not even good.

Alternatives

Lots of Open Source wikis are available, lots of them can be easily installed on your own server.

Here are just a few of them:

• DokuWiki: written in PHP, I have been using it for a long time.
• MediaWiki: also written in PHP, this is the one powering WikiPedia.
• XWiki: an extensible wiki written in Java.
